I have a 1990 542B that got water down the exhaust system so she doe not want to start. Is there anyway to free it up so it can be moved easier than just dragging it? This machine has the 4cyl ford in it, anyone done a top end rebuild on this engine and can tell me if there any gotchas to watch out for? thanks in advance - "the idiot that left the muffler uncovered and pointing to the sky"

It could be a piston seized to a bore or a valve stuck or both. Best is likely to come along it on a trailer and tear it down at home. You could try lube down the plug hole and a wrench to turn the crank. But if its more than a little stuck it likely needs some internal repair. Sad when negligence kills a good machine

I have talked to someone who seemed to think you could spill out the hydro fluid and get the machine to free wheel. Anyone tried this? Also did a compression test and the results were not great, 45,30,70,70 with a little oil added to the cylinder got 90,60,105,105. This makes me think rings, and block issues, any thoughts? Also anyone have a procedure for pulling this VSG411?

If you remove the hoes attached to the 2 wheel motors, then the oil cnleak out and the wheels should roll. It still won't roll very easy as the machine low gearing makes spinning the wheel motors tougher.

It will move with the hoses off as Ken said, it will spit and gurgle oil out. Don't drag it too far like this as you don't want the motor to run out of oil and be damaged.
As for the engine, with low compression and water has been in you really need to pull the head off and get it done. You can then check the bores and see if they have had water inside. If so, you may be up for a total re-co of the engine.
