520 missing brake disc

Is it common for people to remove the brake disc's in the drive housing?. I bought this rough looking 520 to fix up, and the brake did'nt work. when i removed the cover I found some of it missing. I wonder why they did this? I'm not even sure what all is missing. It has cam and plunger assy. but I assume there should be some type of disc that goes on each motor. Anybody got any pics of what it should look like? How hard is it to install? Where could I get the parts? As always Thanks

It will show you what a typical brake disc looks like. They aren't anything special, but they are hard and the inside has a hex cut in it to fit over the end of the motor. I'm assuming its the same basic setup as a 743/731 though.
