quick question about the engine warning light/trans warning light. The trans warning light does not come on when the key is switched ON so I did some investigating.
Engine light has 12v across the terminals (2 orange wires to the single yellow). Trans light has some voltage but it fluctuates and jumps around, esp when I move the wire harness. It seems like a broken/damaged wire but that wire harness is wrapped up pretty tight and it started to rain so I stopped here and put it back together for now.
My questions;
Would a damaged or inoperable sensor also read like this on a DMM? (I know this is unlikely given my moving the wire around causes the fluctuations)
Where are these sensors (hydrostatic oil temp switch & charge pressure switch)?
Is there an easy location to splice into that same wire (marked YEL/DBL on schematic) that would avoid me trying to track down where this wire is damaged?
Thanks for any thoughts and insights. I’ll likely take it back apart tomorrow to continue investigating.
