hello, i hope this isnt a typical question on here but im having difficulty taking off one of the hoses that goes from the pump to the drive motor on the reservoir side its on the very bottom of the pump next to a red cable. do the pumps have to be removed to re and re this part or can it be done without? i can get my 1" wrench into it but theres no clearance to turn the wrench unless i move this spring thing thats connected to the engine block any input would be appreciated thanks !

Try a crows foot harbor frieght just had them on sale and were line wrenches
i forgot to mention i did try a crows foot 1" and it kept slipping to the side because i had to put an extension on the ratchet... do u happen to know what that spring looking thing is for ? would it be hard to put it back on if i removed it from the block temporarily? thanks !

If the spring is pushing you can use zip ties or bailing wire to hold it from flying and keep it compressed
hmm, its like a spring coiled around a metal rod connected to the steel plate thats holding the pump to the block (flywheel side) if u look under the engine shutoff cable it looks like some kinda vibration damper or something ? just seeing if its safe to take off thats the only thing preventing me from being able to turn the wrench

If you can tighten the bolt to compress it mesure how far the nut is from the end then tighten it up to compress as far as you can then bail wire the **** out of it good to go the put back the way it was

I believe the spring thing your asking about is the tensioner for the belt that drives the pumps. The engine/pump assembly would need to come out to take the tensioner assembly off.
You might have to end up removing the engine/pump assembly to get to that hose. If your machine is a early model 443 then just pumps will need to come out.

I think your right OM I guess you've confirmed my suspicion that the pump would have to come off :/ lol good thing it's christmas and there's a little bit of time for me to work on it I was just hoping my mechanical inclinability would be enough to get it off without havING to re and re every thing thanks for the input I'll keep updated !
