440B hydraulic Oil question

I see the manual says I can use 10w30 or 10w40 motor oil for fluid. I have a lot of 15w40 Delvac Diesel oil. Anyone know if this will work in the hydraulic and chaincase.
 
I would use tractor transmission and hydraulic oil. The 15W40 might be too think and its not going to heat as fast as motor oil in a car. You also do not want all the additives that are in motor oil. And the new oils have more and more additives. Save the 15W40 for a diesel engine.

Thanks, so you are saying the older oil specs when the 440 was made are significantlly different than todays oil. I'll have to see what I can find.
