I have come to understand why there are two styles of gas caps on a 440b. One is an automotive style while the other is similar to those use by JD and other garden tractors of the era. Unfortunately the gauge portion on my 440b has parted ways with its associated cap. In addition the cap appears to have met with a nuclear even. Split, shriveled and the lense is blackened. Can someone please provide me with the overall length of the gage and cap? My hope is that a universal cap will be of an appropriate universal cap.
