Don’t know if there is a thread on this one? But wondering what is involved in replacing the axle seals on a 440B ? Thanks

Being an older machine, i feel you may need to pull the axles out to gain access. Big job, but not un-doable.
I did the seals and bearings on a 453 years ago, took a long time to do it, but not really hard. I have a lathe, so i could make parts to make the job easier to pull new bearings in an take out end float.

You definitely have to pull the axles to change the seals.
For better access, you my want to drop the chain case. It is not as horrible of a job as you might think.
Cheers - SR
