Hi,

Wondering if anyone may be able to help with troubleshooting an issue I have on a 435 excavator.

After about 5min run time, the coolant temp indicator on the dash reaches about the mid point, the hydraulic powered cooling fan starts to kick in hard and at the same time the coolant temp starts to go up very quickly to HOT. Bring machine back to idle and it somewhat stabilises. Increase revs and work the machine, does the same again.
Have had fault codes 08-21 and 08-11 come up.
But i don't believe the machine is actually getting hot. I can hold my hand easily on the radiator cap, radiator and any of the water pipes. Hydraulic cooling rad and pipes are also cool to touch. Coolant level is good and cooling stack is clean
Have replaced the thermostat and temp sensor and no change.

Any ideas on where else to look?

Cheers

08-21 Engine Coolant Temp Out of Range High
08-11 Engine Coolant Temp Extremely High

Looks like for me as if the wires might be damaged, check the sensor near the thermostat from the Engine. Should have two Blue Wires, one probably damaged or broken off. Possible also that the Sensor is damaged.
