Hey all my 410 has lost control to boom hand control, I "think" it may be a mechanical linkage problem. As hand control just flops around. Although i can still drive the machine normally, no lift or lower function of any kind. I pulled the inspection plate sitting directly behind drivers calves. I can sort of feel that long linkage bar feels like it's sort of loose, and the far end may be flopping loose. Hopefully it's something simple like that... My question is, how can I manually raise the boom to gain access to flipping cab forward? I've strung chain between two trees and using a large come-along I've been trying to raise it that way, but all it does it lift the entire machine. Boom locks? I've also tried pulling up on the boom lock cable with engine running and dead. Same thing, it just picks the entire machine up! My guess is I need to crack hydraulic lines on boom lift cylinders? Or am I headed wrong direction here? Is there an easy place to crack the lines of this is correct procedure?

Got boom raised today, pulled 2 hose per cylinder and let fluid drain out as I raised the boom via a come-along floor Jack and a combo of about a dozen 2x4s ughhhhh! Took 4 hours this way, think I'll be buying an electric hoist real soon! Gotta wonder if just removing the boom would have been easier. Certainly safer... Found the culprit. Metal linkage rod had snapped off. Looks like a pita to replace, or at least a good winter project. So booms getting pulled so I can work on it in the warmth of my heated garage. Part # 87458511 or #30 in diagram

Glad you found the issue, at least it is something simple, even though access may be less than fun....
