How would you go with trying to repair the old engine? or even see if a Kubota would mount up?Just so people know, from what I can tell it is a Shibaura engine. I have been thinking of getting a 410 basket case. I wonder if the 4-390 engine would fit instead.
From what I know the old engine has the block, head, crank, cam and not much else. A basic basket case. I don't have the loader close by to look it over either. Wondering if I want to take this project on or not. I am not shur what other engines might mount up in place either. How would you go with trying to repair the old engine? or even see if a Kubota would mount up?
What is the connection to the pump, belt or direct drive?
Got ya, its far easier to throw a good used engine at it then. Sorry i don't know what may bolt right up.From what I know the old engine has the block, head, crank, cam and not much else. Just getting to the end of finishing up a 430 re-power, but had the good fortune of of getting similar 422 engine from a backhoe that fit with intake and exhaust modifications, and a lot of makeup (aka missing parts). Has been a relearning experience (was an IH mechanic during late 80s) working mostly on tractors and an occasional 1816. Back to the 410 I don't know what will bolt up to the flywheel housing without doing a lot more investigating.Got ya, its far easier to throw a good used engine at it then. If its cheap and you have some mechanical skills, its worth a go.
Wrong engine on my mind, a 445/m2 in the 430.
