Well the (using the word losely!!) "designers" at Bobcat di it to me again! This time they "designed" a machine with TWO pulleys on the engine that are both unnecessary and impossible to remove!! The goofy variable pulley thing on this thing literally disintegrated when I was taking it off my trailer, so I'm going to replace it with 2 regular pulleys But first i have to get the old junk off! Unfortunately, but not surprising, the geniuses at Bobcat made working on this thing a real nightmare! The pulley is half way behind the frame f the machine so there's not a lot of room to get a gear puller in there! Can someone tell me: 1. What size are the threads on that little ring on the outside of the engine pulley, and will they hold up to the task of yanking the pulley off with a puller? 2. Do I have take the engine out in order to get this done, and what type of puller do I need? When I manage to get it off, I'm going to replace the inside pulley with a regular one, and eliminate the stupid 2-speed setup on it. As long as it runs 4 to 5 miles per hour, who cares - right? Can someone give me an idea how to get this engine pulley off? WHY DO COMPANIES CONTINUE TO HIRE PEOPLE THAT HAVE NEVER WORKED AS A MECHANIC, BEFORE THEY START "DESIGNING" THIS STUFF?? GRRRRRRR!!!!!!!! Tanks a bunch.
