Can not start John Deere 335 P. The Operator touch display comes up either with blank screen or with spinning circle.
Operator touch display never advances to where system asks for passcode.

Tried numerous start attempts. Start operation will eventually timeout if stop button isn't pressed.

Tried disconnecting negative battery cable, leaving it disconnected for several minutes, then reconnecting. The horn honks on re-connection.
However, no change. Still either get blank screen or spinning circle on Operator touch display.

Problem is 335 P is dead inside a metal barn. Whereby, it will have to be dragged out to be winched up on flatbed tow truck or flatbed trailer.
335 P can't be simply dragged out, because the parking brake can not be released until machine is passed point of entering passcode.

Question: Does anyone know of a way to start 335 P; when operator console isn't working (blank screen or stuck on spinning circle)?
Possibly a way to enter Operator passcode or Owner (master) passcode via keypad (buttons for feature / option, along with numeric numbers) located to right of operator touchscreen display?
What about disabling parking brake?

Dealer's field service tech came out to see if he could get operator console working to where passcode could be entered. No luck. Tech believes operator console itself has gone bad.
Seems there is no way to bypass operator console for starting 335 P. The J.D. remote start kit is blocked inside 335 P from enabling hydraulics and disabling "Park" brake.

For what it is worth.
"Park" brake is spring applied. It takes hydraulic pressure to compress spring, to get brakes released.

New recommended method to move a dead CTL.
Remove all the bolts holding the left and right sprockets to drive axles (where motors and brakes are located).
Then move with service truck pulling on a short chain to aid in turning CTL. An option is block left or right track to force a turn. Getting block of wood out from blocked track is fun.

As heads up.
Should you want to load a dead CTL the size of 335 P up the ramps of flatbed trailer. You will need at minimum of a 18,000 lbs winch, doubled up (36,000 lbs of pull), and plenty of 12v power. Two batteries ran dead.

Man, that sounds like a nightmare!

I always worry about these fancy touchscreens failing. It is crazy that there is no manual bypass for the brake. Removing the sprocket bolts just to drag it out of the barn sounds like a lot of hard work. I bet you were tired after that.

Thanks for sharing how you moved it, though. It is good to know just in case. Hope the new console gets you back up and running soon!

What a pain in the dont you know!!
What is ultimate outcome for repair?
D.
I don't know. I have heard nothing from dealer or John Deere since 335-P was picked up.

I did get notices from 335-P's monitoring system of errors I had not seen before. Two about EGR problems and two about Hydraulic problems. Could be false errors as result of Operator touch screen (computer interface) or real errors.

Removing sprocket bolts easy. Dragging it out pretty easy with (heavy) dealer maintenance truck.

Hardest and longest work was getting 335-P loaded on the dealer's flat bed trailer.

The winch was 12v and undersized by I would say by more than 1/2 of what was needed. We ended up using a winch snatch block to double up pulling power.

Still wasn't enough pull power. Dealer used their truck's maintenance crane to help lift up and pull 335 up the ramps of trailer.
Their winch system really needed two big semi-truck 12v batteries to power it. Had to use two of my own 12v batteries too power winch, after system battery expired.

Tomorrow will make a month, and no word. :(
