329e Dusted motor

Long story short... I have an opportunity to get a 329e with about 3k hours on it for basically nothing... the engine had the boot off the turbo and took out the turbo. The previous owner replaced the turbo, and all the emissions gear because it was plugged with oil after the turbo let go only to find out it has low oil pressure and compression...

I was quoted almost 40k from the dealer to replace the engine with one from deere. I know these engines are not sleeved but is there not any other options but a full crate engine complete with new turbo and emissions equipment? It has the yanmar 4tnv94cht.

They can be bored & sleeved back to std. if all emissions parts were replaced thats what i would be doing
find a competent machine shop to do the machine work

yup , if all is there as factory at this point and it just needs a engine sleeved and new rings and bearings I assume? that is the way to go. But let me say this, a engine worn to this degree with only 3k hours has been neglected , so inspect all as best you can before jumping in to deep.

Yes that is correct, they may offer .25mm oversize on the bore, so if its not worn beyond that, it could be bored to that size without sleeving it.

if the engine was treated like that I wonder what the hydrostic drive is like as I doubt it was any better taken care of and can be very expensive to replace or repair also.
