I just bought a bobcat 310. it has a decent hydraulic fluid leak. i need to fix that. As I've been looking into it, i see these machines are rated to use motor oils for hydraulics, 10W40 or 5W20 looks like a good candidate for my cold area. The manual says hydraulic fluid isn't approved. bobcatpartsonline has one particular type of bobcat fluid available. My question is:Are there any biodegradable hydraulic fluids that can be used in this machine? if so, do you have brand/source? Just thinking this thing is going to be in use at my house, I'm thinking it'd be nice to run biodegradable fluid...

I think most hydraulic fluids you get are too thin, if you go AW46 you should be pretty close to the mark.
As for biodegradable oil, not sure I have seen any of that around.
