Need help I have a chance to purchase a 2016 TL 8 with only 390 hours, AC/Heat The owner passed away who purchased new from dealership. The estate is finally being sold and this machine has been sitting outside for three years and never ran.
The widow had it towed to the original Takeuchi shop where purchased they diagnosed as bad ECU to replace and change all fluids $7800. First question if that is the truth can the ECU itself be repaired at some electronics shop.
Supposed they put a test ECU in it and the machine runs fine with it. I spoke to the service rep on phone myself and that's what he said. The machine is nine hours from me so its not easy to look at myself.
The widow will let me purchase for $32,000 as is no repairs on her end. I am very concerned about mice chewing wires, So does anyone know of a shop that can repair bad ECU ? with 390 hours I am very skeptical its the ECU, The widow is legitimate I purchased there TB 250 with 704 hours. Should I buy and gamble, I own a S250 and really don't need the TL-8 but hate to miss a good deal. Thanks in advance
