I have a 2016 T770 D34P Doosan with EGR codes. WIll run anywhere from 20 min to 3-4 hours then throw E005246-21 Blocked EGR fault, E2791-08 EGR Position Fault, and U065226-21 CAN Comm Fault. If I shut it down and restart, it'll run for awhile then throw the same codes. They tell me it blows black smoke during operation when this is happening. I don't want to run it anymore until I figure it out. I'm afraid it will completely derate and I won't be able to load it on a high trailer at idle. I do not have software yet to connect and see what's going on. I'm an former automotive/light-medium truck/Isuzu tech (have the Isuzu scanner) with a SnapOn Verus Pro and some other scanners but no Bobcat scanners so it might have to go to the dealer for a diag.

I want to access the EGR valve/cooler but it looks pretty tight in there. I can find no instructions or video on gaining access to the back of the engine. Short of shrinking myself to 1/3 size and squeezing in there under the cab, I'm not sure what to do. We did pressure wash the crap out of the back of the engine compartment not long before this happened so I'm wondering if maybe we got water somewhere it doesn't belong but again, I can't get access to the connector/wiring.

I would appreciate any insight anyone has on this. I'd be interested in if and how anyone does a chemical EGR/cooler cleaning. I was thinking to warm up the engine, cut fuel and pump some chemical EGR cleaner through the engine while cranking. I think I can get some or most it through if I take out the glow plugs, tube it to catch any that pumps through the GP ports and pump it for a few more times to clear the cylinders to avoid washdown. Let it sit overnight and start it the next morning to see if I can blow out any carbon that loosened up. I'd squirt a bit of oil into the cylinders first. I had some luck with this process on a isuzu diesel once.

Lastly, does anyone know if a software I can buy on the cheap that will touch the bobcat?

Thanks for your help.
