2007 Case 420 Aux hyd controls

Hi all, have been looking around the site the last few days and like what I see! I have just purchased my first skid steer, a 2007 Case 420 with 444 hrs on the meter. I have rented a brush cutter for a job I am doing tomorrow and have run into a problem. When I use the foot control to run the cutter and lock it on, the lock doesn't hold the pedal down far enough for the cutter to run properly. I just fades to a stop. So I see the three switches on the left hand joystick and try to activate it using those. Nothing happens. I read the owners manual and it describes the switches and what they do but not how to activate them. Am I missing something? Usually I'm pretty good at figuring things out but this has me stumped. Any help for a newbie greatly appreciated.

Well turns out if I push the foot control to the right the lock works good to thats what I did. Still nothing on the left hand buttons.

Glad you worked some of it out. I have never used one of these machines, so i really can't help you much.
What are the left switches for? some times these are installed but not connected to anything. They are there just in case later on you want to add a feature.

The manual says push the momentary switches, each with a male and female hyd coupler icon on them, to activate each aux hyd coupler separately. Then there is a switch which shows a lock icon and a hyd coupler icon. This is supposed to lock the aux hyd's on. I will have to stop by my local dealer and ask if they can give me some insight.
