Just purchased an l185 and the foot controls are locked. I jumped the power wire next to the foot controls and solenoids and they worked. Checked for power and there is none. Seat belt light goes on when I sit in the seat and goes off when buckled. Checked fuses and and connections and they seem to be good. Any ideas I'm new to the forum and it seems really helpful. Also borrowed a instrument panel from the dealer and it still doesn't work

Any and all help is appreciated
try to follow the wire back from the solenoids to see if there are any breaks and ask dealer for a printout of the wiring so you can check the wire's origin for power. The older ones had fuses in the overhead and engine room also.

Followed the wire all the back. Checked connections at breaks and fuses Definitely will try to get the wiring diagram

First disconnect one of the solenoids and see if the other works when you retry. If that one does not work, then plug that one back in and unplug the other and recheck. One bad solenoid will keep both from working....................................................................................................................... Check if you have continuity between pin 14 of the instrument panel connector and the tan wire at the solenoid connector.

Hey Mike, When your counting the pins how are you figuring out pin 14?

Disconnected the solenoids one at a time and nothing.if I checked the pin right I have continuity . After checking continuity I placed the borrowed instrument panel in and nothing. Also checked the solenoids individually with the other panel

Well, lets start with the basics. When you enter the loader and sit in the seat, key off, does the instrument panel light up? You stated when the seat belt is fastened the light goes out, correct? If everything is ok to this point, then you should have power to pins 3, battery, 12, seat switch, 13 seat belt.....Turn the key on and now you should have power to pins 23 and 24 also. You can check the voltages with the instrument panel disconnected. If you can find a terminal pin that fits the sockets of the connector it will make the job easier. If you have power at these terminals then the system has the power to activate the solenoids.......When you checked for continuity did you use an ohm meter? The ohms must be .2 or less. A higher reading indicates an open in the circuit. Did you check the continuity of the ground wire at the solenoids connectors? I am also assuming the parking brake disengages when you push the enable button and that the engine starts.

Instrument panel lights up. Seat belt light goes off when seat belt is connected. Engine starts and machine drives just no power to the solenoids . My Ohm meter probably isn't the greatest. Gonna go buy one
