I'm looking at a skid steer to buy. Its a 2006 328. Owner states it has bad injection pump. From what I could find the skid steer has a 5030t for the engine. How does the injection pump work on this motor and what is the part number so I can price one before i buy it. I have worked on a lot of new holland skid steers but never a john deere. So just looking for some information on this model and engine. Also what other things I should look out for with this machine.

Thanks.

I know nothing really about that machine so ,if there is a good shop in your area that does injectors and pumps I would pick their brains. you might get lucky and find someone that is famulair with that engine injection system. I would think that year it would be a mechanical pump.

The injection pumps (1 for each cylinder) are under the rocker arm cover. Each individual pump is matched with an injector, so you purchase a set. Installation is a very complicated procedure requiring special tooling to time the pumps and match them to each other (not for your average DIY'er). The pump/injector assembly lists for about $675. Price might vary slightly as there are serial number breaks that change which part number you would need.
