2002 T190 - Damn punk kids

Hey all, Working on a 2002 T190 that a bunch of punk kids busted the windshield on then they got in and smashed the keyless entry panel. Local dealer wants $1000 for this part. as I understand it the computer prevents you from making a keyed bypass unless downgraded (which requires the computer). Can I just jump the starter to get the machine to start or am i stuck with the unaccommodating dealer and keyless panel replacement (probably will downgrade after)

In theory you should be able to run an ignition switch circuit to the starter and the fuel solenoid, but I would be worried that some damaged circuitry from the smashed panel might result in error codes that would prohibit starting or operating, since they all run on relays and solenoids now.
If you can get the part number for the panel, you might find one on ebay for considerably less, that should restore everything, although it might require a dealer to match it to the computer.

As I understand it any computer bought on Ebay would have to be scrubbed and re done. I read that a factory rep has to do it, not even a dealer can re do them. With all the issues the keyless has I'm thinking a downgrade might be a better idea

had it had a key panel it would be gone. probably to hurricane clan up . never see it again. yes expensive repair, INSURANCE?... yes will need downgrade gonnana take about three minutes box o doughnuts might get it done for free.
