2001 bobcat 463 overheating, oil backing up out of dipstick

Greetings! Skid started overheating in less than 10 mins only handing light loads. Coolant fine, water pump fine, oil backing up the dipstick and out. relatively new oil is black. kubota d722-e engine. About to pull valve cover and clean the crankcase ventilation (housing on this one is molded into the valve cover). no time to order and wait for new valve cover gasket. I intend to use Ford hi-temp RTV to reseal as a stop gap while waiting for a new gasket. Also intend to change oil and replace the dipstick as the fit is loose, possibly worn? The skid is a daily driver on the farm and essential, so any advice on the best way to approach this would be appreciated.

Sounds like your getting blow by. This could be a blown head gasket, bad piston rings or a cracked head.

easy way to check is to try thy this

when motor is running, try to loosen fill cap and let it lay on top, and see if its jumps about!

Is your engine oil overfilled and have the smell of diesel fuel?Possible your getting cylinder wash and getting diesel into the engine oil?

It sounds like badly worn engine creating a lot of blow by, worn rings maybe? How many hours on engine?

Oh man, that's a tough spot to be in with a daily driver. Sounds like you've got some serious blow-by, just like the other guys said. That pressure has to go somewhere, and it's pushing the oil right out your dipstick.

A quick way to check is to run the engine and carefully loosen the oil fill cap. If it's puffing smoke out of there, that's a pretty sure sign. While a clogged vent could make it worse, that much pressure usually points to piston rings or a head gasket issue.

I had an 843 that was pushing oil out the dipstick. Two of the injectors were bad putting lots of fuel in oil plus injection pump seal on the front of it was leaking fuel into oil.. If it is making oil that could be the cause also.
