Hello again. Having trouble with my 2001 873. When I turn on the key, I get nothing. No power, nothing lights up on the panels. Its not the battery, the over head lights work and the inside light works. I can also hear the relays clicking and solenoids working. BUT nothing else. I have check all the wires in and around the engine and under the cab to check for damage and found nothing. I have checked fuses and all are good. It seems I'm getting power from te battery but its not getting to instrument panel. Any help would be great

I also tried to switch around the relays in the fuse panel and that did not help, no change.

poacher41, I had the same problem with my 1997 873. To make a long story short, it was the connection ring termial that connects to the altenator. I cleaned it and it worked. Then it would not work just a click when you turn the key. I talked to my father about it, he is an electronics electical genuis. He said to check the connection I told him I did, he said I did not. He said open the termial lug, it is only crimped. You will see the corrosion. Cut off the termial strip it back, tin the wire, slide on your shrink tubing, put a new ring terminal on, crimp it, then solder it. The only way to see the corrosion was to open the terminal. The power to the loader comes from the back of the altenator. Rich M-37
