1st ever Bobcat - 753

G'day guys, I just bought an Australian model 753 on the weekend, manufactured Jan97. Internet searches suggest it's a late C or an early F. Can anyone help me ID it please as I badly need a manual for it? The motor has v2203 sticker on rocker cover, no E, B, T or any letters. Is this 40HP? It has a digital BOSS instrument panel with 4 rows of bars for fuel/batt/??/temp. I don't know what other model ID specs to look for. It's plate says S/N 5098, which I'm hoping is the same as 5086 (in US) because no 5098 manuals seem to exist. Cheers, Paul

On the Bobcat website under frequent questions it says to call the Marketing Service department at 701-678-6165 for answers about model and year of manufacture. Just be sure to have the full serial number handy.

Pretty sure all ours are the same.
Call your local dealer, they can look up the year for you.
What info do you need on the machine? we may be able to help without you needing to buy a manual. They are about $80 USD off ebay, the local .au dealers are too expensive!!!!

Hi Tazza/all, Thanks for the info. The plate is clear that its 1/97, just the serial number 5098 is a mystery to the regular manual peddlers on the web. One US eBay dealer 'maxxwedge' says this: "Paul, Bobcat of AU had their own codes for some bobcats. I have had long exchanges with Bobcat here about trying to determine what AU codes translated to what US codes. They don't acknowledge that this situation even exists and have no answers". Which is how I ended up here on skidsteerforum to consult the knowledgable and experienced.. Basically.. she needs a lot of TLC, its an ex hire machine thats obviously bulletproof, but very neglected. The hour meter read 0006.2 hrs on arrival Sat, and has not incemented with my 2hrs of use, so from research here, it may need new hydro and/or oil pres sensors to get it recording hours. But first I want to drop all fluids and give it a full birthday service. Theres milky ooze from L/rear axle, bar won't stay up, engine bay is black etc, etc.. but it starts easy and runs sweet and seems to do everything it should, 4in1 operates OK and hydraulics feel strong. GREAT THING!! I think I'm really gunna need a manual. I'll take your advice and try the local guys in OZ again, but I got the impression if I'm not there to buy a new one then they have little interest. Talk to the service department, they are usually pretty happy to help out where they can.
As for the issues you have, axle seals, oil change, its all pretty simple. A manual isn't NEEDED but still handy. If you grab a 753 or 763 manual off the site, it is pretty close to what you have. Yours has the boss option, so things may be slightly different, but not by enough to really matter. The mechanical stuff is the same, the electrics are the only difference.

Gents, the PDFs from OldMachinist are much better quality than the what I had before. Thanks for the tip I really appreciate it. One last thing... In your opinion does the V2203 exist... or is mine really an E or B?

The V2203 does exist, i think its a V2203-EB the other is a V2203-DI for direct injection from memory.
