I've got a LS180 with about 2700 hours. I was using it and it died, it was clearly a fuel issue. I tinkered around and determined that the lift pump was bad. I purchased one(not from NH) and installed and the machine fired up and ran but always seemed low power to me. Fast forward 2 months and it's died again and will not start. I'm not getting fuel out of the prime bleed screw. I open up the old pump and there is a screen in the end all clogged up. I cleaned it and reinstalled it and it fired up and runs like a top. I checked the new pump and it's screen is clean. That leads me to two questions while doing research: 1) I'm reading about a filter between the tank and the fuel filter/lift pump, I don't have one should I add it? 2) Are after market lift pumps just a lousy idea? Any comments are greatly appreciated.
