Purchased a well used 863 a while back and haven't used it much but the last time I did it developed an oil leak at the lift spool in the valve body. I pulled it out and replaced the o-rings and also installed the detent balls and springs that were not there. Cleaned everything up, installed the valve body back in the machine and topped it off with new oil. Now I have no lift or tilt. I did replace all the spool ( both lift and tilt ) o-rings and also checked the poppets in the three load check plugs and replaced the o-rings on them. Most everything is un-hooked as far as safety so I don't think a switch is a problem. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks

I wonder if you knocked the lockout solenoid while doing the job. It will lock out the lift and tilt functions. Check its still plugged in too.
It will have to be something simple. If the tilt does not work, it points to the lockout solenoid.

Pulled the lockout solenoid and stem out of the valve body and found a very small amount of dirt or grime in the filter. Cleaned it all up and re-installed it, cleaned the two plug ends and both lift and tilt worked better than before. Valve may have been stuck or bad connection in the plug but it worked just about long enough to warm up the engine then it just shut off. Found a blown fuse, re-placed the fuse and the same thing happened. Now I have to find out whats causing this problem. Thanks for the reply Tazza.

If the fuse blew, i'd suspect a shorted coil. Try disconnecting the coil, replace the fuse and see if it blows when you try and operate it, it won't un-lock but it should tell you if you have a wiring short.
You can hook a 12v battery to the coil to un-lock the hydraulics to see if its the coil or not too.
This is only for the lockout coil, not the aux hydraulics. They run on a lower voltage.

Replaced the coil ( $45 dollars ) and ran it for a couple hours yesterday with no problems. Thanks for all your help Trazza.

same issue here. 1998 863F with AHC. resealed leaking tilt and lift spools and replaced tilt actuator. now the valve lock light will not turn on and neither tilt nor lift work. I'm getting 9.5 ohms from the solenoid. where is the coil located? what might cause the coil to fail?
