1996 Mustang 2060 - broken boom cable

To All: Considering purchasing this machine, but seller said the boom cable (up/down) is broken. Is this something I can handle being reasonably skilled or it this a dealer repair? Seller said cable was $105.00 (What am I getting into as for doing the repair?)

Not sure on you're particular machine but our2044 and 2054 aren't terrible depending on how much crap is in the belly pan. Ours are clamped in with jam nuts on both ends and Clovis pins connecting the linkage. I would make sure pedals move and make sure the spool valve moves and isn't jammed up
