I have a problem with my boom and curl function locking up and I would appreciate any advice. The oil level is 100% full--Viscosity might be an issue? when the machine tilts down on the left side or the front it seems worse? When it is cold it seems worse. I hear the valve body click sometimes when it frees up and works properly. any ideas guys?

Sounds like the BICS is locking you out. Faulty seat or seat bar sensors could cause this. Are the BICS lights all on when the faulit happens?

Thank you for the reply. I will look over and see what the BICS is telling me and I will let you know. thanks, jeff.

There are two ways the boom and tilt can lock up , 1996 I am not sure if the second way was around then or not , the first way is a hydraulic lock , in this case you can push the pedals and they move , you hear the hydraulics flowing but nothing happens , it could be the coil or stem of the hydraulic lock , or the wires or sensors which control it , you should have a code coming up if this were the case , second way could be spool lock solinoids , there is one on each spool , the pedals won't move and are locked if this is the case

Thank you for the reply! Yes the pedals move and yes you can hear fluid movement. I have a Boss system for engine management, (which is another problem I will mention in another thread). I do not have a code reader, or do the hydraulic codes show up on the Boss dislpay? I have the full service manual. with the hydraulic schematics, If needed. As for spool lock solenoids...I don't think mine uses that system. Mine has the foreward restraint that mechanically locks the pedals when the bar is up. Thanks again for any help.
