hydralics make a loud whine when turning in either direction is there a filter or something i'm missing or is this pretty typical for this type/year machine. thanks mark

It could be a number of things. If you don't have a parts manual, I suggest you get one. You can normally find an electronic one on line for free or for maybe $10. Make sure you get on that matches your serial number, then look through the hydraulic system parts for filters. It could be the there is a small brass filter in the system that needs to be cleaned or changed. If that isn't the problem then you may want to look at some of the posts on this site about polishing the swash plates in the pump. Hope this helps.
