1983 HMI 6c skidsteer starter issues

TIA The starter has gone out on the 6c and dont have any ideas how you get it out. Any of you had experience with this particular model? I know where it is and see where the power attachs to it but I cannot, for the life of me, see any bolts holding it in.
 
Don't know this machine. Perhaps the starter bolts come through the front of an adapter plate that the starter is attached to? Or could it be a side-bolted starter?

could be. The starter is naturally mounted under the engine and in a position where I cant see in to see how its attached. Its going to be one of those situations where I wish I had a swivel socket adaptor for my neck, I think. Anyone familar with these models at all or had any experience with them?
