I'm trying to bring this relic back to life and am having some trouble tracking down a service manual. At this point, I need the manual to verify 12v and 6v parts and wiring. Currently, there are both on this machine and I'm not sure why and if that is correct. The arms have an 825 sticker on them, but when talking to the Bobcat dealer rep he is convinced that this model should have a Perkins diesel motor, which it does not. The serial number I gave him verified that it is an 825, but he is scratching his head as am I why the Wisconsin motor is in it. We are not positive on the year, but it must be from around that time-'77. I could really use Help tracking down a service manual for this machine. 70's 825 Bobcat with Wisconsin motor. Please Help!!!!

It doesn't mean that a previous owner replaced the engine with the Wisconsin one.
Have you looked to see what can be found on ebay at all?

Historical specs say 38 HP diesel engine http://www.bobcat.com/historical_specs/skid_steer/825_1974 Why anyone would replace a diesel with the Wisconsin is beyond me!?! Unless they had a scrap 600 or 700 series machine with a good motor. It will be interesting to see how they adapted the drive components, cooling, electrical, etc. to make that all work.

Condsidering that it has 12v and 6v stuff the Wisconsin engine likely came out of something old that was 6v like a hay baler.Would be interesting to see how they coupled the engine to the pumps.
825 was a strange one with the hydrostatic motors driving reduction gearboxes inside the chaincase.

Farmers are creative and work with what they have. No doubt the original motor puked and a junk baler or other piece of equipment donated its engine. Can you post some pictures?

I am working on some photos to post. Want to see anything in particular? Sounds like I have a Frankenstein tractor.

Back to your original question. If you let me know what model Wisconsin engine it is I'll look and see if I have a engine service manual for it.

Guys that are doing re-power projects will be interested in the adapted motor mounts, flywheel to hydraulic pump linkage, adapted motor electrics, engine and hydraulic cooling, etc. Once you get the model of the engine, we'll be able to compare the fabricated components to OEM.

This is what I found on the tractor. Bobcat Model No 825. Serial # 15732 with a 4958 MA in front of the serial number. The Wisconsin Engine had Model No. Vf4D and Serial No 3195044.

Send me a message to the email address in my profile and I'll send you the service manual for the Wisconsin.
