Message: <blockquote data-quote="T-rustyfix" data-source="post: 137792" data-attributes="member: 21967"><p>I have had this system completely removed, rebuilt and modified both pulleys, and know it inside and out.  There are several possibilities of why it is not working for you.  To replace the belt, you have to remove the split shaft coupler on the lower shaft under the seat.  If the belt is slipping, it could be that the grease from either or both pulleys is making its way onto the belt.  The extra grease is supposed to fling to the outside of the pulleys, but those ports can get plugged on these old machines and then is goes to the inside.  If your belt is greasy, that is your problem.  Get a big can of brake cleaner and some rags and clean off the belt, and both pulleys.  Don't grease the pulleys too much.  Just a bit every week should be enough if you use it daily.</p></blockquote><p></p>
