Went to use my skidsteer, started it, and it immediately was knocking like a ball peen hammer was beating something to death. Shut off immediately and checked oil levels engine & hydraulic, everything fine. Was about 100' from bldg and was on my way to park and raise and place the safety bar support. On the way to the bldg felt it was pulling the engine down and continuing forward I had stopped because forward motion was acting up. I backed it up a couple feet and continued forward. It improved. I stopped again and shut it off to take a visual. Engine was warming up quickly and exhaust ports were showing heat, little heat vapors. Another 30' to go, made it. I felt certain it was the engine knocking. Put mechanical oil pressure guage on engine 65 psi warm. I could of pulled engine coupler, but removed the pump. No knocking when I started engine. Took pump to hydraulic shop that I was referred to. Wont go into the Drama ! 2 weeks later was told the pump is garbage, but case is good ? Asked what caused all the noise, did not answer that question. Buy a reman, wanted $5000.00. Picked up the pump and it was clear the pump had not been opened up...nothing. I was not happy!! They didn't care. Boo hoo for me. Any possibility of just repairing the pump. Not in a favorable position to purchase a reman. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
