Just to start, I don't know a whole lot about skidloaders, but willing to learn. I have a repair manual for this skidloader. After it warms up, it starts to knock, sometimes more then others. Have no idea where the knock comes from. this is a TM20, 3 cyl, about 2300 hours. Don't really know the history of the machine, bought it from a dealer who had it on coinsignment, from an older gentelmens hobby farm. Did not knock when I bought it. any help on how to troubleshoot or previous experiences appericated. Joe

Really hard to say without hearing it.
It could be as simple as engine mounts or universal joints between the pump and motor (if fitted that way). Or could be as bad as worn bearings inside the engine. 3 cylinders engines usually rattle a bit more than others, does changing the RPM change the noise? or does it go away? some times if you get the revs just rite it will feel smooth, this would more or less eliminate engine mounts if it still knocks when the engine is running smooth.
Does it do it when the machine is just sitting idle, not moving or operating the hydraulics? any change is noise when they are operated?
Give as much detail as you can.

Drain the engine oil and cut open the filter and see if there is any bearing material in either.
Check the oil pressure cold and see if it falls of as it warms up.

OK, ran it last night clearing snow. Didn't rattle or knock until after it warmed up. Seemed like when putting a load on it, like pulling on one side and pushing on the other to turn, it didn't make the knocking sound. Don't know if the oil pressure dropped or not, what is an easy way to check this?
