After an ice storm hit I started my loader and it seemed to run rough then I could smell burning rubber. So I shut it off waited a little while (thinking a pulley or something was froze} then started back up no more smell or smoke but runs rough (like a bald spot on a belt) Large belt runs smooth smaller belt at top runs rough w/a heavy spring tenioner> Is that normal? Is there a fan belt? where is it all I see are the 2 belts and the top one runs what looks like a pump???

i wouldnt think the cooling fan would get frozen, unless the drains in the housing were plugged. if im understanding what you are saying, its the cooling fan drive belt that you see. top belt with the spring tensioner is the fan drive i believe. turn off the machine, and look thru the grill above the hyd cap, and see if some ice in the fan. that or the belt got a spot burned out of it.t
