what machine are you using? they make a stump bucket for digging trees and roots out, its as small as one could find, never saw anything like it that would clamp on a bucket, in the past I have used pallet forks for moving rocks

Can you give me a brand name/ vender for the stump bucket? I do have clamp on pallet forks; I thought they might be too long for fineness. Case 1818.

I can not vouch for any brand or place to purchase, seen them at auction for 500 and new 1000 to 3000, in my case I made my own from 1/2steel plate and welded teeth from my Bobcat dealer

stump buckets can be from cheap to costly based on quality of build and brand name, there all over places like ebay, Craigslist, amazon and the web if you do a simple search
as for mounting a smaller bucket in a bigger one, I never seen anyone for sale , but gather if one really wanted to they could, but I don;t see it being a great idea, or way to spend $$
As if your going to fab something up, maybe just get a smaller bucket, , or if your trying to sort material, separate rocks from dirt
they actually sell, attachments made to do this for skid steer! from more simple rock buckets, to more costly vibrating soil separator and such, for screening top soil from dirt and rocks and debris!
if you only need things for short periods of time, many rental shops carry a good selection of attachments these days, allowing you to just rent use and return it!
also a good way to see if you like something before buying or building it!,

mine stump bucket uses the bobcat style universal mounting system dimensions , so it is not a bolt on. you would really be to far out with that idea and loose much of your lifting capacity.

Search for stump bucket and you will find plenty of results. I've been happy with Bradco, Paladin and Virnig. I avoid Titan aka palletforks.com.

You could get a small bucket for a walk behind machine or from an old 440. I believe they can be had in a 3 foot wide size.
I have clamped my 4 foot bucket from my 542B inside the 6 foot bucket on my S510 to sort material in the past.

if you can weld, pick up a attachment plate, visit a plasma cutting shop and get the sides and bottom cut, couple hours welding and you have a bucket
