318d John deere really like on the farm here in Tennessee use it for every thing

Problem is running the unit it brakes and kills the engine. It will start back but the cycle lap bar comes on. Cycle it and sometimes it's out and then it won't stop until you start it back up what could this be that's causing this to happen
