Sounds like a head issue.? Coolant or water coming out of exhaust. I'm not familiar with your engine. How could coolant enter exhaust? Besides head? You need to do a leakdown test. Unless there is a bypass or hose that could enter exhaust?
Try the Radiator pressure/ leak down. It might point to...
Shooting in the dark here:
Is it a themostat problem? Thinking its stuck (not opening) and cap on brings up pressure for the heated engine?
Water pump: they go bad, impellers , ect. Has that been checked (pulled).
And confirmed no Milky oil like a blown head gasket?
Do you know the model number? Off hand I do not. We could look it up.
I bet this is it for the Ford engine.

Yea, I would hook up a small boat type gas tank and run it with new diesel. See of problem goes away. Like Foton said check a sample of Diesel, let it sit in a glass jar and settle. Also, when it dies did you check the bulb to see if it's soft or hard as a rock?

Malcolm,
I did a "Quick" search and bobcat is the best price on that fuel sending unit. After market shop wanted like $225.
Did you Pull it and OHM test it?
Todd
I would contact the OWNER. Ask them what they want to do. Put the "Ball" in owners court. Worse case you Blow engine. I'm not willing to gamble that on a borrowed skid steer.
Keep us posted.

Look on very bottom in back, facing backwards, should be a bung type plug to drain it. Make sure you have an Extra large pan to catch it! It will be a lot.
I would slowly clean / wipe areas (Do not use pressure washer) and see where the leaks are coming from. Then go from there.
Post pictures...
There is a 553 hyd tank on E-Pay right now. See if that tank fits your 743..?
