If all else fails buy one of the newer 1 wire alternators. I use them on tractors they are self regulating and once they reach 800 rpms or so they start charging, then you cut off key they don't discharge.

Thanks all, I had a question but it is not as important now. I was wondering McLaren solid or new foam filled. But as there was not but 50 bucks a tire difference per tire by the time they got here I went with solid.
