I was buying hydraulic fittings awhile ago, I saw they had a pump and filters mounted on a dolly you could rent.
Maybe you could save some hydraulic oil? I'm not sure. Everything is so expensive these days....
Don't use a jack!
There is a adjustment shaft inside to put tension on the chain.
Back off the lock nut a little, tighten the adjustment nut, Lightly snug it.
Then tighten the shaft locking nut.
when you remove the top plates, you'll see right away what I'm talking about.
It's a little tight...
I have a 1975 Mini Mac 5C, I re powered it with a 16 hp B & S. I was trying to dig some tree roots to remove a stump. I broke the snap ring on the curl cly. I have it and the lift cylinder on the bench waiting on seals.
I wish I had bought a skid steer 20 years ago!
Just an update. I haven't got the grapple made or anything mounted yet. I'm still working on getting my new building finished for my machine shop.
Pictures will come when I have something to show.
I agree, the price wasn't to bad. I worked at a hydraulic shop as a machinist. Sometimes the cylinders were a bear to get apart. Hot wrench and a long pipe.
They had a big one on the stand trying break loose the head gland. It came loose with a bang!!! The guy fell down hard onto the floor and...
Yep, I don't know what I was thinking...Duh. I have it figured out now.
I need to make some brackets for the spool, solenoid and quick disconnects.
Then I can run my lines and start on the grapple.
When I bought my 5C with a Tecumseh it has a fuel pump. No surging issues.
The leaking down, is probably the seals going bad. I'm going to order all new seals for mine.
