You don't have to drain all the oil. Water being heavier than oil should settle to bottom of tank. Let it sit for a while and just loosen the drain plug a turn or two and the water should drip out first. If drain plug not at very bottom then siphon from bottom thru fill port. May have to...

Me got a few things fixed since covid but my 1818 has remained steady. Harder to get in and out of than my old 1816 and I lost 20 lbs! Being 75 and having lots of old age joint pain doesn't help. Thanks for asking!

When I restored my 1818 I put mechanical gauges in, I didn't want to know about [or test or try to find replacement sensors] Oil Pressure, volts and Hyd Oil Temp. Thoroughly warmed up, 25 psi, 13.8/14.1v and 185°. My only real issue is that I made the control bushing a little too good [tite] so...

Be sure to look up P218 governor adjusting. Don't wing it.

I would get a rebuild kit for the carb, sounds like a float issue.

1818 now that I restored.

I had a 1816 with auto clutch. Ran it for 27 years, wore out a set of tires, Tecumseh engine. Mine would also belch some when working hard, keep the oil up [10-40 Amailie] and change regular and it will do you well. When I used it one year for snow it was a hoot putting it in a 4 wheel drift...

Can you give me a brand name/ vender for the stump bucket? I do have clamp on pallet forks; I thought they might be too long for fineness. Case 1818.

Are there small [cubic foot or so] buckets that clamp on to existing bucket? need to pick, sort rocks from a pile. Thanks, Seb

You have a manual? My Case was like that, bad poppet valves, don't know if if Cat uses them or not.

Model 181A [1818A], Ser#17767574. Can any one find year of manufacture? I have rebuilt/restored/repainted and would like to take to shows for show and tell/play. Engine is Twin cyl Onan. Everywhere I send to doesn't reply.
