    S!60 Starting Issue

It's running...kept cranking, pumping, and bleeding the injection vent. Next step was to bleed the injectors, as suggested. Total Bobcat novice, but have an old BMW with mechanical injection so was familiar with the concept. Thanks all for the help.

    S!60 Starting Issue

Tazza - It started and ran fine after the valve adjustment, just have problems once I changed the fuel filter. I tried pumping the bulb and opening the vent on the injector pump while my wife cranked the starter, to no avail.

    S!60 Starting Issue

Actually, the last question doesn't make sense...it ran fine after the valve job and before the fuel filter change. Plenty of fuel in the tank.

    S!60 Starting Issue

Oh...last time I replaced the fuel filter I didn't have this issue, didn't need to pump it. But while adjusting the valves, I remove two of the fuel lines. Do I need to bleed these lines by loosening the screws on the fuel rail on these cylinders?

    S!60 Starting Issue

I'm back. Adjusted the valves, it started fine. Then did the maintenance , including fuel filter. Now it doesn't start..starter cranks it over, but no fire. Manual says to bleed the air, so I open the vent on the fuel filter bracket and pump the bulb until I see the diesel come out the vent, and...

    V2003 (S160) Valve adjustment

Thanks, Hotrod. Just what I needed. Was a little intimidated about pulling the glow plugs, but ended up pulling those and the injectors for the experience and to make cleaning up the area easier.

    V2003 (S160) Valve adjustment

Thanks for the response. I have no problem spinning the engine over...when I do, I can't find two rockers on any cylinder that are loose at the same time. So the manual directing me to "use the rocker arms rocking" on one cylinder to determine which adjacent cylinder to adjust the valves on is...

    V2003 (S160) Valve adjustment

Have the factory service manual, and I've never spent more for so little. It says to adjust the valves on a certain cylinder when another specified cylinders' rockers are 'loose'. But if the valves are out of adjustment, the rocker(s) aren't loose. I can't find a cylinder where both of the...

    709 backhoe cylinder seal help

My bucket cylinder seal is leaking. Took it to a local (Southern California) hydraulic shop, and they said they would pull it apart and give me a quote. $575! Said it needed honing, etc. Told them I could buy a new cylinder for that much. So I got the disassembled unit back, with the seals in a...

    bobcat 709 backhoe attachment

I bought a used 709 for $1,800, then shelled out an additional $900 bucks for 3 buckets (including a new 12" from the dealer). I am using it "around the house" for a remodel, and it is working out fine. I've got the fold down stabilisers, which I prefer due to the wider base they provide. Being...

    4 in 1 Hose Bracket?

    Thanks, all, for your responses.

    4 in 1 Hose Bracket?

Driving down the freeway I saw a Bobcat on a trailer with a 4 in 1 bucket. It had a bracket of sorts to help keep the aux hoses out of harms way. Since by unit came with lopped off 4 in 1 hoses, and I have nearly performed a hose-ectimy myself, I'm considering adding these. They looked like a...

Rookie needs 4 in 1 bucket advice!

Bobcat_ron, thanks for the insight, i didn't know about the auxilliary circuits priorities. Is the toggle variable, as in the further you push it the more hydraullic pressure it provides? Next question - How much does engine speed affect pressure? I've been running a low RPM so as not to upset...

Rookie needs 4 in 1 bucket advice!

Well. now I'm really confused. I opened the bucket, and was going to lower it onto a fence post that I wanted to pull out, but it wouldn't lower...thats normal? Then. I pulled the trigger, and I had all functions -bucket open and close, with raise and tilt at the same time. Hit the toggle, and...

Rookie needs 4 in 1 bucket advice!

Okay, i'm back from my field trial. The bucket works on variable, but I still lose one of the two pedal functions when I'm operating the open/close function. This time it was the up/down function of the arm...the tilt worked. Could this be because of the flow running the wrong way? Thanks
