I have an S185 that wants to move in reverse as soon as we turn it on. It doesn't matter if the lap bar is up or down or if the controls are toggled on or not. If I hold the joysticks forward slightly, I can bypass this issue, but curious about how to fix it. Any help appreciated as always.

Lift the cab. Hop in so that you are under the cab, facing the rear of the machine. Look up and to your right. There is a plate there with 2 bolts that acts as a mounting block. Mine was all rusty. Cleaned it up and running smooth so far. That's on a s185.

So it turned out this was a bad ground after all. I missed it on my first few times through the machine. There is a grounding block that mounts to a removable plate under the machine. This was all rusted up and was my culprit. Thanks for the help!

I've been through this whole machine twice now. Cleaned up every ground, replaced a couple of questionable wire connectors, but nothing terrible. At this point, I am confident that all the grounds are properly grounded. I disconnect the battery and let it sit for a short while to clear any...

Symptoms: total shutdown while operating. Unit comes to a complete halt. The lights on the BICS system all turn off except for the Lap Bar light. Power cycle machine and it'll fire back up and let me run for a couple minutes. Getting the following codes: 47-22 8 volt reference out of range...
