My U-joint looked like below, i dont think i've applied enough force to bend any of them. I did have to replace one of the new bearing houses on the U-joint with an older one, since the new one didn't fit (machined wrong). Perhaps this could've cause some sort of misalignment? it moved freely by...

I've added a video of the sound here, it's not very loud, about the same noise level as the normal machine noises. I'd like to know if it's something i should be worried about or can i just continue driving like this?

I destroyed the gear ring when removing it, and even so there is a small chamfer on each tooth on the side that the starter gear slides into, so i dont think rotating would be wise. Also considering a new one is like 80 dollars? In other news, the machine is back together and running again...

Good news: I've got the replacement parts in and am working on getting it back together. I also noticed the bolts that hold the hydraulic pump were loose? I tightened them, not sure if the pump needs to be aligned at a certain height?

How do i know which alternators are compatible with my 743 with kubota V1702? It's quite expensive to get an OEM part shipped here, so i was hoping to find a suitable alternative.

Noticed the ring gear was also quite worn, that would explain the difficulty starting sometimes. I'll probably replace this aswell. Which models share parts with the 743(b)? not having a whole lot of luck finding parts for the 743.

Well, i got it out (getting it back in might be a bit harder...). And i have a suspicion the U-joint is the problem. Now to figure out where to get a new one in Europe / the netherlands. Any suggestions are most welcome! Also: the splined coupling was fairly worn, would it be worthwhile to...

What would a worn out U-joint look like? I'm planning on pulling the engine out since it doesn't look too complicated / involved.
