    New bobcat 743 owner

When I had my engine out I also replaced that line, what a pain but glad I did.

Yes, I keep my eye on the temperature gauge. And it’s a pretty straightforward piece of equipment. It’s my new back muscles 🤣🤣

    New bobcat 743 owner

Welcome, I also bought a 89 743 three years ago. I rebuilt it as well. There is some more I want to do but for the most part it works and runs good. I have really enjoyed working on it and now using it.

Did you bleed the air out of the hydraulic system?

1988 743 bobcat overheating issue cant figure it out.

I do not mean to offend! I don’t know everything and have a lot to learn but when I rebuilt mine I was having it run hot and my release valve wasn’t wired up. When I did wire it up it started running cooler. Just trying to help other fix their bobcats and pass on what I have learned from...

1988 743 bobcat overheating issue cant figure it out.

On top back of the hydrostatic pump is a pressure switch with two wires going to it. One wire come from the wiring harness and the other goes over to the pressure relief valve, which is in the port block.

Is the motor and hydrostatic drive clean from dirt and oil buildup? This will keep the heat in and cause it to overheat. Also check the hydrostatic pressure relief valve and make sure is opening up when there is too high of pressure on the hydraulic system. This too will cause overheating.

    642b hydraulic valve diagram?

When I rebuilt my 743 there was a hydraulic hose that ran under the hydraulic control valve that I couldn’t see until I removed the valve from the bobcat. I had the motor out and decided to remove and rebuild. It had a big hole in it. The only way to replace hose was with valve removed. So glad...

743B intermittent heavy shaking / metallic knock

Eighty dollars isn’t much due to the amount of work it takes to replace it. I wonder if you could fill the hole with JB Weld to add the loss of weight. It definitely sounds like something it tapping.

743B intermittent heavy shaking / metallic knock

I saw a video where a guy heated up the gear ring and then tapped it off. I wonder if you could rotate it?🧐

Bobcat 763 remanufactured vs aftermarket new injection pump?

Well I think it’s a great idea. I did the same but with a 743 and I have loved rebuilding it! So enjoy the process, you will learn a lot.

    Hello

In my opinion, you have found the right place. I can’t remember reading a post that someone didn’t have an answer or lead you in the right direction. Good luck and have fun. I have really enjoyed rebuilding my 1988 743 with a 4-cylinder Kubota diesel V1702. Welcome.
