Is this a fair Bobcat service invoice?

    Seems pretty legit.

    743 low power syndrome

This jam was from bits and pieces of the sheath around the fuel sender harness.

    743 low power syndrome

Thanks to the advice on this thread I studied fuel starvation on YouTube and found it upstream of the fuel filter. It's running well for the moment after some compressed air to clear the fuel pickup, but I now know I have to drain and clean the tank itself. It's a 1981 machine and there's got to...

    743 low power syndrome

Grey, like my 864 and other diesels here. Also the rest condition includes waiting for the engine to cool down to ambient temperature. Does not burn or leak oil or coolant. Unreliably, it most often runs all day, and only occasionally drops into this low power mode after a couple of hours.

    743 low power syndrome

Runs for hours normal power, then limps along at about half RPM. In a modern gasoline vehicle I'd suspect fuel pump or fuel filter. What are the common causes of this syndrome in a 743?

    How's life?

Much travel in recent months. I need time at home so I can dig into my 864 aux hyd, which only flows in one direction even after massive repair costs at the local dealer. Yesterday I put on the skidpro mower and cut a few acres of weeds high and thick. Sweet.

    Bobcat 863 For Ranch

This is one of the fears that caused me to choose the 864 which is the same thing but with tracks.

    where to buy tires ?

i didn't love the price of solids but i do love not being stopped by punctures, slow leaks, and forcible dismounts (loss of bead). they make them in 12x16.5 but those weigh 130 pounds each whereas these are 100 pounds each -- about what i can handle. for added benefit, they weigh a lot more than...

864 steering won't return on one side

Well that was it. Worked fine for six months after it came back from the shop but the blocks on the steering plate were loose on three bolts so I guess they didn't torque them. Anyway the return/centering spring now works on both sides in both directions and now I have to learn how to calibrate...

864 steering won't return on one side

Following your lead here I reread the shop manual and watched a few YouTubes and I see what you mean. If one bolt falls out of a centering block or if one pintle cam falls out this symptom would result. Next time I'll dig in before asking questions. TY TY.

864 steering won't return on one side

will lift the cab once the atmospheric rivers stop. note though it is not merely sloppy -- there is no pushback at all from the forward position of the right handle. it still operates the right side hydraulic motor, but has to be pulled back to neutral/center by hand. TY!

864 steering won't return on one side

Yes it creeps. In fact I need to manually center the right hand lever or else the engine can't start.

864 steering won't return on one side

Right hand steering control now falls forward, no neutral centering return spring action. Still returns to center after being pulled backward. Left hand control is unaffected. It's been rainy so I've not opened it up to see how it all works. From the shop manual I see only one return spring for...
