bobcat 873g glow plugs cycle 30 sec everytime

My 873, I control glow duration with a toggle switch. That switch is on top left console above bucket leveler switch. My 753 has a relay that controls cycle time, and I’m sure it’s keying off a temp sensor. Suggest finding a wiring diagram for your s/n.

    743 kubota diesel running fluffy

Not sure we will see closure on this one…it really helps to see final solution/fix. Lack of power, I’m thinking compression has dropped. OP?

Laurence, no I did not. I have a landscape nursery and I use caretree tree spades. That company is out of business now for 10 years. But these units are pretty solid. Sorry I didn’t respond sooner.

    873G covered in oil

Zeke touched on it… 873 is oil cooled…no antifreeze. If your leak is engine oil which is also coolant, it does get pumped up to the cooler radiator above engine bay. If there is a leak up top above engine, I can imagine the oil could drip down everywhere in the engine compartment. Check up top...

What holds the lapbar up on a 743?

This is my arrangement. The attachment pieces are like a bolt that screws into another bolt, with no actual adjustment. Spring tension is supposed to be enough to hold bar up. Like others have said, do not lube it, and I too had to take bar out twice and weld more metal onto the bar where it...

Yes. See my answer on your other post.

Flow direction on cased drain filter

This wasn't answered so I thought I’d give 2 cents…I’d say “yes” it matters. The bobcat bronze filter in the case drain housing is spring loaded to seat it in the housing. If the flow is in the opposite direction as intended/designed, the flow can compress the spring and let the schmutz...

    Bought a fake 743b that's a 743 - need manual

Yes, preventive maintenance. I’ve seen the catastrophic damage caused by the ujoint that self destructs…always flywheel damage, maybe bending hydraulic pump input shaft , etc.

    Bought a fake 743b that's a 743 - need manual

Ujoint connects flywheel to hydraulic pump input shaft. With cab up and by laying on top of hyd pump, someone with long arms can reach back, with difficulty and blindly, grease the zerks…but it’s a stinker. Sometimes it may be easier to pull engine back. Spline on ujoint just slides off pump...

753 runs and then dies like it out of fuel

My repair kit was like the one in pic. Note you set it in the tank just like you see in pic. Grommet gets seated before it expands. Then push brass shoulder into grommet to expand grommet. Reverse for removal.

753 runs and then dies like it out of fuel

Screen in bottom of tank on pick up tube could be in schmutz (debris in tank bottom). And some of this could be plugging fuel filter, even if filter is new. Air bleed valve on fuel filter housing left open. Bleed at fuel lift pump left open. Vented fuel tank cap blocked, creating tank vacuum...

What holds the lapbar up on a 743?

I’ve also had the same problem on 743 and 753. Where the lap bar tube meets the triangles gets pretty worn. I’ve had to weld more metal on the lap bar twice now to prevent it from wearing through. Something to consider.
