    751 skid steer Peugeot

Probably the blower pulley. Mine is the same way....it is really close to the frame. I think you need to get a slightly smaller belt. I think mine stretched. It's got a big tension spring on it....don't think the bearing would have failed. Good luck with the Pug motor....

    751...What now?

Was going from memory last night, but here's what was done, by my brother , who is a much more experienced and talented wrencher that the hack that I am....."We checked the compression and found the following. All checks require 3 pulses. Fuel solenoid was denergized and spun over prior to...

    751...What now?

Fish, Did not do a wet test. Tazza suggested that, but since they were kind of OK, we kept looking. The fact that it was running, basically stalled, them we couldn't get running again, made me think compression, pistons, rings, etc. wasn't the problem. Seems much more like a fuel or electric...

    751...What now?

Tazza, Will try Starter Fluid. Cranking with injectors....it does smoke some, not belching, but some. Yes, getting fuel to injectors. After cleaning them, they were connected to fuel lines from injector pump, engine turned over and good spray verified from all 4 injectors. Before cleaning, only...

    751...What now?

Been trying to get the old 751 with Pug motor running....special props to Tazza for helping me with lots of things to check. Here is what I know so far.... Was running, throttled back to idle to check something and it died. Would not start again. Coolant level low, but temp gauge never went out...

    751 needs to go

It does chug black smoke when cranking. Fuel to all the injectors has been verified. What are these glow timers you speak of? I ran a jumper cable direct to the glow plugs. It has always been hard to start. There is a hissing sound right after it cranks trying to start. I thougt it sounded like...

    751 needs to go

It's got the....(drum roll please)...Peugeot motor...mechanic who worked at Bobcat for 16 years looked at it. Timing, compression issues??

    751 needs to go

Regretfully, I must part with my 751....doesn't want to start.....would be a nice machine for someone with more time and knowledge. In southwest Ohio if anyone is interested....will make a good deal to have it gone. Still building house, but Bobcat to tired to help.....

751 Will not start in the cold

I had a similiar problem with mine. It was re-wired at some point and they had a 18 gauge wire connecting them to the relay. Replaced with a #6 wire and that helped a lot....ended up with about 11.8 volts to plugs with a full 12V battery. You might try and use a jumper cable and go straight from...

643 Bobcat diesel VERY hard to start

Not sure if this helps or not....my 751 wouldn't start today. It was 30 degrees and it had been sitting outside for a week. Preheated the glow plugs, cranked good, but nothing. Took a jumper cable and connected it directly from glow plugs to positive side of battery. Held it there for about 20...

751 Will not move and no controls

This is from a different forum, but the thread had quite a good bit of information on the traction lock solenoid. http://www.heavyequipmentforums.com/showthread.php?5117-Bobcat-753-Traction-lock-problem Here is an image of the BICS error codes that would appear on your unit based on what might...

751 Will not move and no controls

Start at negative side of battery and follow it to wherever it is connected...usually a bolt through to the chassis/frame. Regarding BICS....when the problem occurs (or if machine is currently not working), look at the lights on the BICS. Are they all green? If not, need to look into what might...

751 Will not move and no controls

Sounds silly, but is there a good connection to ground on the battery? My 751 "stopped" working twice now and it was a crappy ground connection (now fixed). But BICS does sound like a good place to start. Or the interlock solenoid...might be a intermittent connection to it.

    Coolant Hoses on 751

Sprung a leak on what looks like a coolant hose. It's on the back of the motor. I think it's a u-shaped hose? Can't find anything on it specifically in the manual. It's looks like a real bear to get to. Any suggestions on how best to work on the back side of the motor? Pulled back the hyd. oil...

Removing lift cylinders - Model 751

I paid for and downloaded a Bobcat 751 Service Manual, but it didn't explain how to remove the lift cylinders (it did explain removing the tilt cylinder). The front pin seems pretty straight-forward, but the back looks like a bear. Is there a trick to being able to access the inboard side of the...
