Correct - clutch, gears & chain driven; although I doubt there's little facing, if any, left on the clutch plates, because motion is becoming more difficult. But I'm very hesitant to strip it: there's no side access to the transfer case, which is narrow & may require special tools for aligning...

I'm told the TCM Clark bobcat 315 is a Japanese hybrid based on the Clark 310 (petrol engine) & Clark 313 (Diesel engine) and Parts Lists are still available, even if some parts aren't. Clark Dealers have access to a Service manual covering the Series 300's.
