Small machine suggestions. Max machine width 40", speedy (6 kph/4 mph or more), good side slope ability, wider mower/rotary cutter, snowblower, etc.

In my previous post, I meant to say "Bust out a 4 wheel ATV...." not a 4 week ATV. More coffee please...

Case 1835B Diesel issues vs Newbie

As to not wanting to turn, I'll offer another two cents worth... 1. I assume there this a hydro-static motor that drives the left side and there is one for the right side. 2. I assume that you have a left hand and right hand control levers. Or you have mechanical controls of some sort going to a...

Case 1835B Diesel issues vs Newbie

Based on my farm machinery experience and some very limited skid steer experience, let me offer this: 1. 60H is #60 roller chain, the "H" is heavy duty. 2. There are cheap roller chains and much better roller chains. Some roller chains have o-rings in them to help hold lubricants in the roller...

leave lift cylinders on machine to pull apart to reseal? Also not sure how to get front piece/seal off cylinder?

To 1816Case, If you are anywhere near Cedar Rapids, Iowa, I can recommend a great shop that did my 8B cylinders. The shop is called HYDRA-FAB and is located in Hiawatha, Iowa. Top shelf team of people and they know their stuff. Leo

leave lift cylinders on machine to pull apart to reseal? Also not sure how to get front piece/seal off cylinder?

I am in the process of a ground up restoration of an 8B. While you could, in theory, leave the lift cylinders in place with one end connected and the other end loose, I would not recommend it. I took my cylinders to a local hydraulic shop. They fought with both of them on the bench and finally...

hydra-mac 8A lift cylinder seal kit?

On my 8B machine, I have a Gresen control valve. See the attachment. If you can't find seals, maybe a local shop can help you. My control valve was rebuilt by Kevin at Hydra-Fab (319-533-1338 or 319-378-1911) in Hiawatha Iowa. He knew what the valve was immediately when he saw what I had.

hydra-mac 8A lift cylinder seal kit?

To 1816Case: Based on my experience with my 8B while moving gravel, dirt and stump grinding chips last year, I saw the same problem you are talking about. My bucket was drifting down as I moved from one spot to another. While moving or just before dumping my bucket in the dump trailer, I had...

hydra-mac 8A lift cylinder seal kit?

Found my bill for the 8B's boom cylinder repairs. 2 seal kits were $82.82 plus tax. Labor was 3 hours @$125. In addition to the tear down, the other work was polish cylinder rod, flap wheel seal groves and barrel, wash parts, replace seals, reassemble.

hydra-mac 8A lift cylinder seal kit?

I had my Hydra-Mac 8B boom cylinders redone locally here in Cedar Rapids Iowa. Cost was about $500. The cylinders needed seals and some scratches polished off on the piston. Shop guy told me they had a bear of a time getting the ends of both cylinders to come off so they could get inside. My...

    Mitey Mac onan surges?

Foton is correct. Your issue could be engine is starving for fuel due to dirty fuel filters. At idle, the clogged filter may be able to supply enough fuel for smooth operation, but at higher throttle, it can't. And he is right about the governor tension spring, it controls engine speed. When you...

hope ok.. Mitey mac info needed.

Welcome to the Mitey Mac a.ka. Hydra-Mac club. There are several models out there. Mine is a model 8B circa 1973. You can look on the rear of the machine about shoulder high and you should see a factory tag. That will give you make, model and engine type. My machine is pictured from a job...

Bobcat 632 - Blown Head Gasket?

Another thing you might try is: 1. Use a ratchet strap around the ring gear on the flywheel. Hook the ends of the strap in the bolt holes for the starter. Now you should have the flywheel restrained. 2. Borrow or buy a Milwaukee or DeWalt 1/2" electric impact wrench with the appropriate impact...
