When cleaning the carb, pay attention to the fuel shutoff solenoid if so equipped. You need to apply power to the solenoid in order to open it up (or remove it altogether) to clean that hole. When I got my 732 some years back, I had trouble with that for several years as it would clog and...

Bobcat 742 - Hard to start?

I have a 732 with the ford motor and it cranked slow, very hard to start and nearly impossible when it was cold (guess what; Minnesota, it gets cold). A new battery didn't spin the starter any better, and even though the shelf-test of that starter was "ok", I replaced it and problem solved...

    722 gets tired

Hey, Baked. Your "weak" issue sounds like the trouble I have every now and again in my 732 with the Ford 4-banger; after running for a while it would just lose power and move sluggishly especially when going up any grade at all. I learned that I need to clean and reset the point gap in the...

    How's life?

Been doing well. Just replaced what was left of the pedal bushings in my 732; they were so far gone I could barely tell they were here at all. Sure tightened up the pedal action.

    rear view mirror genius idea

Some years ago now, I installed a small (and cheap - $20) backup camera on my 732. The camera is near the top of the cab, facing down some so I can see the ground, and the screen, 3" x 4", is mounted in the upper left corner of the cab; all I need to do is glance up and to the left to see what...

Bobcat 742 bogs down traveling forward.

Assuming you have not swapped in an electronic ignition setup, check the point gap. My 732 w ford I4 will start to bog down going up even the slightest grade until I reset the gap.

632 bobcat will not start, Carburetor not letting the gas in.

I have had this same problem with my 732, the shutoff solenoid on the carb was sticking (and still does, on occasion). Stuck shut, no gas; stuck open, flooding. A good cleaning is all it takes to correct.

INEXPENSIVE skid steer tires sellers recommendation

I recently purchased a set of Camso 532 SK 10x16.5 from TiresDirect.net for $145 each, more than $50 less per tire than I could find them locally and less than any other online site I could find. They have others, too, but I was impressed with what I read about these and I couldn't beat the...

Snow removal with a bucket on gravel

Well, after destroying my gravel driveway for about four years, I broke down and bought a 6 foot snow pusher, a very popular attachment here in southeast Minnesota. It does take down the rise in the middle of the driveway but that's it. it will leave some snow behind, but I go back over with...

Bobcat 732 gas Not starting after ran out of gas.

I didn't see a conclusion to this and this sounds exactly like the trouble I had (and still do every now and then) with my 732. The fuel shutoff solenoid on the carb can get gunked up and fail to either open or close; stuck open and the thing floods like the Minnesota River in the springtime...

732 No Lift - Tilt and motion fine

I was scanning the forum for the first time in a while and found this thread unfinished. I thought that odd because I was sure I finished it. At any rate, with the help of the knowledgeable and helpful Tazza, spitzair, flyerdan, and my ever so kind neighbor Adam, I got the bloody thing done. The...

732 No Lift - Tilt and motion fine

Thanks, Tazza. I wish I had drained it before I removed the rops (and the ignition switch!). I just removed the hoses and let it drain and that seemed to work with minimal mess. _____ I spent the whole day today cleaning what appears to be 40 years of crap form under everything, getting the...

732 No Lift - Tilt and motion fine

Thanks again, Tazza; I'll do that. And it looks like no easy out for me. The service manual says there are four bolts holding the pump to the chain case and I can only see three of them. It appears that the fourth one, on the right rear, is underneath two of the hoses. So, I'll have to remove...

732 No Lift - Tilt and motion fine

Thanks, flyerdan, Tazza, I'll check around and see if I can find some plugs/caps. ----- The reason for removing the rops and lifting the arms is to allowworking from the side, especially if I can do the job with just lifting the pump instead of removing it completely. Any, yes, putting a jack...

732 No Lift - Tilt and motion fine

Yep, the bolt sheered off at the top of the chain case. Great! _____ But I've got a plan to get this bugger working again. My neighbor will help me take the rops off with this skidloader and, if I can't rig a temporary pivot block to get the arms raised under power, I'll disconnect the arm...
